It always feels like the Summer is the right time to play around with nail varnish – both on fingers and toes.
One of the quickest and easiest ways to update your manicure is to do an accent nail. t It is a simple way to customise your manicure and add personality by adding a contrasting colour to one nail of each hand. It can be as simple or as complicated as you wish – if you have the time/expertise by all means think about applying some nail art to one of your fingers – either by hand or using a decal. Otherwise the accent could be as simple as layering a coat of shimmer, glitter or matte topcoat over one of your nails, using a different colour in a similar tone or going for something all out and different eg a single gold nail in an otherwise black manicure. The contrast finger is usually the ring finger, or pointer, but not usually the thumb as its’s harder to see.
Personally I don’t have the skill to do anything too complicated but even I can manage a glittery topcoat or a stripe of gold shimmer. For more ideas and inspiration have a look at our accent nails pinterest board.
